Using Visa Offers to Find Travel Discounts and Promotions

Over the last few years, credit card issuers have been pulling out all the stops. Programs like Visa Signature and World Elite Mastercard have continued to widen the range of discounts and benefits available to cardholders in order to attract new business and keep existing customers.
On that note, Visa recently updated its Visa Offers program, which is a collection of discounts and benefits available to Visa cardholders from travel, retail and other partners. Visa Offers are generally separate from perks like the Visa Signature Luxury Hotel Collection, though there is some overlap. The landing page currently features a number of limited-time offers added over the last few weeks, including discounts at several premium hotels that are popular among the award travel crowd.
Here are a few that stand out:
Fourth Night Free Plus Benefits at Park Hyatt Paris
The Park Hyatt Paris-Vendôme is a prime spot for redeeming free night certificates from the Chase Hyatt Credit Card, but if you don't have any on hand or you're planning a longer stay, this offer can help keep the cost down. Your fourth night will be free for stays of four nights or more when you book through Visa and use your Visa Signature card (such as Chase Sapphire Preferred Card) to pay. With rates starting over $800 per night, this is a great opportunity to save big on paid stays.
This is similar to the 4th Night Free benefit on the Citi Prestige Card, but with this offer you'll also get Luxury Hotel Collection benefits like an automatic room upgrade, complimentary daily breakfast, a $25 dining credit, late checkout and more. This deal is available through May 15, 2016, with one week of blackout dates specified from March 2-9.
25% off Best Available Rate Plus Benefits at Conrad Miami
It's not on Miami Beach, but the Conrad makes a good base for exploring the city beyond the surf and sand. This is similar to the offer for the Park Hyatt Paris, except you'll get a flat 25% discount instead of getting your fourth night free. Once again, you'll enjoy the full suite of Luxury Hotel Collection benefits. This offer is for Visa Signature cardholders only, and is available through December 31, 2016, giving you plenty of time to book.
Increased Dining Credits for Luxury Hotel Stays
A number of properties are offering increased food and beverage credits for stays booked through the Luxury Hotel Collection. The standard benefit is $25, but these offers bump that amount to $100 or more. You can receive the increased credit regardless of how long you stay, so it can mean a significant discount on shorter visits. Here are some of the participating properties:
- Roosevelt, New Orleans — $100 credit through June 30, 2016
- Gramercy Park Hotel, New York — $100 credit through April 30, 2016
- Hyatt Centric South Beach, Miami — $125 credit through March 31, 2016
- Fairmont Copley Plaza, Boston — $100 credit through March 31, 2016
- Viceroy, Bali — $100 plus 10% off best available rate through June 30, 2016
Discounts on Rentals with Avis and Hertz
These two rental car giants are offering discounts on daily and weekly rentals. Best of all, these offers are available to all Visa cardholders (not just Visa Signature). Avis is offering 25% off rentals through December 31, 2016, though blackout dates and other conditions may apply. Hertz is offering a 25% discount plus one free day on rentals of seven days or longer through April 1, 2016. Make sure to read carefully through the terms of either offer to make sure you're eligible, and check prices elsewhere to verify that you're getting the best deal.
