Super 8 50th anniversary promo: Buy 15K Wyndham points for just $8.88
Wyndham Hotels & Resorts is celebrating 50 years of its Super 8 brand with a super special promotion. On Aug. 8, Wyndham Rewards members will have a chance to buy 15,000 points (enough to book at least one free night) for only $8.88 plus tax — the same price the original Super 8 in Aberdeen, South Dakota, charged back in 1974. Here are all the details.
Deal basics
When to book: Starting Aug. 8 at 8 a.m. EDT (while supplies last). Only 888 "rooms," or blocks of 15,000 points, will be available.
How to book: Go here to buy your 15,000 points for $8.88 plus tax. There's a limit of one purchase of 15,000 points per person.
There's no need to register for this promotion, but you must be a member of Wyndham Rewards. (It's free to join.)
Points will be deposited into your account within three business days, and you'll have 18 months to use them before they expire. These points are valid only at participating Super 8 hotels outside of China where rooms cost 15,000 points or fewer per night.
Wyndham Rewards points are valued at 1.1 cents each per TPG's July 2024 calculations, so this $8.88 purchase is worth roughly $165 — if you can snag it. You'll have to act fast to be one of the 888 members who get to take advantage of this offer.
How to use 15,000 Wyndham points
While you can redeem most Wyndham Rewards points at any Wyndham hotel (or for Vacasa vacation rentals), points purchased during this promotion can only be redeemed for stays at participating Super 8 properties that cost no more than 15,000 points per night.
Wyndham uses a three-tiered award chart, meaning any given hotel costs 7,500, 15,000 or 30,000 points per night. So, you'll get one free night if you stay at a Super 8 that costs 15,000 points or two free nights if you stay at a property that costs 7,500 points. You can't put these points toward a stay at a Super 8 that costs 30,000 points.

- Super 8 by Wyndham Dubai Deira: 7,500 points per night
Bottom line
Wyndham's offer of 15,000 points for $8.88 plus tax is a great deal, but only 888 blocks of points will be available to book. Be sure to pull up this page and log into your Wyndham account before 8 a.m. EDT on Aug. 8 so you're ready to buy the points as soon as the deal goes live.
