Save Up to 10% When You Book Directly with Hilton

Last year, Hilton began testing a program to give Hilton HHonors members a discount when booking stays directly through the hotel chain rather than using a third-party service like Priceline or a travel agent. While the discounted rates were originally only available in a handful of cities, the program has since expanded to include more than 4,500 properties worldwide.
The amount of savings for your stay ultimately depends on which days you're booking — if you're traveling on weekdays, you'll get a 3% discount, while you get 10% off on Friday-Saturday stays. It's probably still best to shop around, but keep in mind that stays purchased through third parties might not be eligible for all the perks that a direct booking with Hilton offers. Additionally, you might still be better off booking with other discounts, such as AAA rate, through the Hilton site.
If you are booking directly through Hilton (or another service that provides full benefits when booking), there are also a few credit cards that offer extra perks. You can save quite a bit on longer stays with 4th Night Free from Citi Prestige, for example, and Amex Platinum members get complimentary Gold status in the HHonors program.
