There are some new ways to stock up on Marriott points and save some money.

Uber One members can earn 2 Marriott Bonvoy points per dollar on eligible rides and Uber Eats deliveries now through June 16.

And if you usually call Ubers to and from the airport, listen up. You can now get 10% Uber Cash back when you reserve a ride to or from the airport using the Uber Travel App. This update is one of a few new initiatives that the company announced earlier today.

There is also a promotion to get four months of Clear free when you sign up for the expedited airport security program.

Get 10% Cash back for reserved airport rides

As of today, U.S. Uber users can now receive 10% Uber Cash back on each ride booked through Uber Travel as long as they reserve the ride in advance.

The cash back promotion is part of the Uber Travel feature available within the Uber app, and riders can only access it by linking their Gmail accounts. Linking your Gmail provides Uber with corresponding details related to a travel itinerary, including hotel, flight and restaurant bookings which can make it easier to reserve all your future rides at once.

The trip linking feature is powered through a partnership with Award Wallet. Do note that you’ll need to hand over your data to get that 10% back so it’s up to you if that’s worth the trade to you.

After you use the travel platform to book airport rides in advance, you should receive Uber Cash which can then be applied to future rides.

Currently, Uber Travel is only available for use in the U.S., though it is expected to launch in Canada this summer. Additionally, the company plans to expand booking options for U.K.-based Uber users to include trains, coaches and car rentals booked through Uber.

At the end of last year, ride-sharing competitor Lyft introduced a similar feature for users to link their Delta SkyMiles accounts; this allows users to receive upcoming travel reminders through the Lyft app and via email, which may include important details such as flight number, destination, departure/boarding time, terminal number and gate number.

Expanded Uber One benefits with Marriott and Clear

For a limited time, Uber One members can receive 2 Marriott Bonvoy points per dollar on eligible Uber rides and Uber Eats deliveries. In addition to the usual earnings, to receive these points, you must be an Uber One member and link your Marriott Bonvoy account.

New Uber One members can use the promo code “goget2022” to get their first month of membership free, plus $30 off their next food delivery.

If you are not an Uber One member, you can still earn Marriott Bonvoy points by using Uber, including 6 points per dollar on Uber Eats deliveries to Marriott hotels (with a $25 minimum order); 3 points per dollar on Uber XL, Comfort and Black rides; and 2 points per dollar on non-hotel Uber Eats deliveries and food pickups  (with a minimum $25 order). Uber One members can stack this offer along with the 2 points per dollar promotion through June 16. So, Marriott Bonvoy members could earn 12 points per dollar on Uber Eats deliveries to Marriott hotels, 6 points per dollar on Uber XL, Comfort and Black rides and 4 points per dollar on all other Uber Eats deliveries.

Uber One is a subscription option for Uber users that includes savings on Uber rides and Uber Eats orders, in addition to benefits with partners for monthly payments of $9.99 or annual payments of $99.99. Uber One perks include $0 delivery fees on eligible restaurant orders more than $15 and grocery orders more than $30 as well as 5% off other eligible orders, including on alcohol.

Uber One members can also sign up for Clear and get their first four months of a 12-month membership for free. Alternatively, travelers who sign up for Clear can get a $75 Uber voucher for Uber rides and Uber Eats orders in the U.S. This is also applicable to previous Clear users whose membership expired.

As a reminder, Clear helps users move through the normal Transportation Security Administration line at participating airports more efficiently, thanks to a dedicated Clear lane that automates the identification verification step of the TSA screening process. Clear members are then escorted to the front of a regular security line.

An annual membership to Clear normally costs $189, though there are a variety of ways to save by holding certain credit cards, elite airline status or even simply belonging to a frequent flyer membership program. Learn more here.

Other initiatives

Expanding on the company’s previously announced sustainability goals to transition all Uber drivers to electric vehicles by 2025 and reach zero emissions globally by 2040, riders in select cities can request rides in premium electric vehicles, such as a Tesla or Polestar.

These rides dubbed “Comfort Electric” are currently available in Los Angeles, San Francisco, San Diego and Dubai, with more cities to come soon. Ride costs fall somewhere between those of an Uber Comfort and an Uber Black.

Uber announced two other app rollouts right in time for summer, which can be used by sports fans at specific stadiums. They’re also useful for people who plan on hosting large-scale events.

Sports fans in select domestic cities, including New York City, Los Angeles and Washington, D.C., can now place orders via Uber Eats and Postmates at certain stadiums. This means users can enjoy food from concession stands without waiting in line to order.

If you are planning an event, know you can now book oversized vehicles, including party buses, to accommodate guests directly in the Uber app. Similarly, users can now cover the cost of rides for guests via a new feature called Vouchers for Events, which provides a code to share with guests for both rides and Uber Eats.

Credit cards that offer Uber credits

Outside of the limited-time promotions, American Express® Gold Cardholders and those with The Platinum Card® from American Express can get an annual Uber credit, up to $120 and $200 in annual Uber Cash respectively. Riders will receive the Uber Cash in payments of up to $10 credits per month.

To get your Uber Cash, make sure you link your card(s) to your Uber account.

Bottom line

With the announced expanded Uber partnerships, there are even more ways to save money within the Uber app.
