Is Instavit's Sweet Dreams Spray Really a Cure for Jet Lag?
A few months ago, I got an email from a public relations rep promising "A Pocket-Sized Solution to Jet Lag and Travel Sickness." Given that I travel overseas quite often, jet lag is a serious issue for me and the rest of the TPG team. I was intrigued.
The product is called "Sweet Dreams," and it's from a company called Instavit. I hadn't heard of either, so I was hesitant at first. But curious enough to drop $15 (via Amazon) on a 28-dose bottle of what has now become known as "my sleep spray." It consists of a combination of chamomile and melatonin, both of which haven't done much for me in the past on their own, but in this concentrated liquid form, two sprays in my mouth and 30 minutes later I am out.

So how well does it work? Take, for example, a 6:30pm redeye from New York to Europe. Normally I'd easily be awake for the first five or so hours, but after spraying this stuff I can go to sleep before the rest of the cabin's even made its way through the appetizer course.
On a recent trip that brought me from Toulouse, France to Singapore (on Singapore's A350) to Seoul (on Korean's 777-300ER) and on to New York (on Asiana's A380) over the span of 48 hours, I would have been seriously miserable without "my sleep spray." Instead, I stayed awake when I needed to be up and slept like a baby when I needed to be out. I even managed to spend the rest of the day in the office immediately after I landed in New York. I take the spray for another couple days after I'm back home, and after that I'm in the clear, back on a normal schedule without any medication.
If you're not convinced, you can get a 10-dose trial version for $7 on Amazon. I'm sure it won't work for everyone (my mom was unaffected, for example), but it's a real lifesaver for me.
Have you used Instavit's sleep spray?
