Update 11/30/2018: IHG Rewards has shared with TPG that the promotion has been "extremely popular," so it has tripled the total number of points it's giving away from 50 million to 150 million bonus points. That means that another 20,000 members can score a 5,000 point reward. The post has been updated to note this change.
On Wednesday night, IHG hosted a "Toast to Travel" at its Kimpton Hotel Eventi with GRAMMY winner NE-YO and some of the hotel brand's most loyal members. At the event, IHG announced that it's giving away a total of 50 million bonus IHG Rewards to its members as part of a new Home With IHG promotion. And, IHG Rewards has since increased this giveaway to 150 million points.
If you want to claim your share of the prize, you'll want to make sure to do so soon. IHG Rewards has more than 100 million members, but only the first 30,000 members to complete the required tasks can claim their 5,000 bonus point reward. At TPG valuations, that's $30 worth of points and it only takes just a couple of minutes to claim.

Here is what's required to get the bonus points:
- Take a photo "at home for the holidays or at an IHG hotel"
- Share the photo to Instagram or Twitter
- Tag @IHGRewardsClub on Instagram or Twitter
- Include the hashtags #HomeWithIHG #RewardsOffer #ad
- Although it's not part of the terms, TPG readers are reporting that you must also follow @IHGRewardsClub
- After posting the photo, head to www.ihgrewardsclub.com/ClaimMyPoints
- Log into your Instagram or Twitter account
IHG will immediately verify if you don't have a valid posting. If you don't, you'll get the following error:

Once you have a qualifying photo, the posting and submission process should only take a couple of minutes. That's not bad for a $30 reward. And, that reward is enough points to get a free night at one of the nine PointBreaks hotels currently available at the 5,000-point tier.
If you need a few more IHG points to complete an award booking, you can buy IHG points as cheap as 0.5 cents per point through a promotion ending Nov. 30. Or, you can boost your account by 80,000 points by signing up for the IHG Rewards Premier Credit Card and spending $2,000 in the first three months plus an additional 40,000 bonus points after spending a total of $5,000 on purchases within 6 months of account opening . Cardholders get a free night on their anniversary, fourth night free on awards, instant Platinum Elite status,
