Fast-track Frontier Platinum status with just 20,000 elite status points
The airline status matches and challenges keep coming. This time, Frontier Miles is out with a fast track to Elite Platinum status, the program's second-highest tier, which you can earn with just 20,000 elite status points — less than half the normal requirement.
Here's what you can do to earn Platinum status with Frontier Airlines for the rest of 2025, and why you might want to.

Frontier's Platinum status fast-track offer

Frontier's fast track to status offer is simple: If you earn 20,000 elite status points by April 30, you'll get Platinum status for the rest of 2025.
First, you must register by opening the offer page on Frontier's website and entering your name and Frontier Miles account number. Then, you'll have until April 30 to accrue 20,000 elite status points (which are different from Frontier travel miles).
How can you earn elite status points? There are two ways: flying with Frontier and spending on the carrier's cobranded card.
Basic members earn 10 points per dollar spent on qualifying flyfrontier.com purchases. Qualifying purchases include flight base fares (excluding taxes and fees), as well as extras like checked bags and seat assignments. If you hold elite status, you'll earn more:
- Elite Silver: 12 points per dollar
- Elite Gold: 14 points per dollar
- Elite Platinum: 16 points per dollar
- Elite Diamond: 20 points per dollar
With the Frontier Airlines World Mastercard®, you'll also earn 1 elite status point per dollar spent on purchases with the card. This can help you reach elite status faster.
The information for the Frontier Airlines World Mastercard has been collected independently by The Points Guy. The card details on this page have not been reviewed or provided by the card issuer.
For instance, let's say you're a basic member with the Frontier Mastercard in your wallet. You could use your card to book a couple's trip from New York to Cancun in March ($1,536 with the Economy Bundle). This amounts to 16,896 points (10 points per dollar spent for the flight plus 1 point per dollar spent with the card). Then, if you spent another $3,104 on the card by April 30, you would earn the 20,000 points required to reach Platinum status.
Or let's say you're planning a trip from San Francisco to Orlando for a family of four in April ($1,632 with the Economy Bundle). If you were a Silver member with the Frontier Mastercard, this would net you 21,216 elite status points — enough to snag Platinum status without additional spending. If you were a Gold member without the Frontier Mastercard, the points earned on the flight alone would be enough to reach the 20,000-point requirement.
Keep in mind that elite status points earned from flying (including ancillary purchases) will not post to your account until the flight is completed. Frontier's terms and conditions also state that points may take 48 to 72 hours to credit, and retroactive points accrual does not contribute to the 20,000 points. We recommend completing any trips and credit card purchases you need by at least April 25 to ensure the points will count.
Also, you must register for this promotion at least 24 hours before departure for a trip's points to count toward the 20,000-point requirement. It's a good idea to register now, even if you're not sure you'll pursue this status offer.

What is Frontier Platinum status worth?

Without this fast track to status, you would typically need to earn 50,000 elite status points in a calendar year to reach Frontier Platinum status. Your status would be valid for the rest of the year in which you earned it and the following calendar year.
With Frontier's current offer, you can earn Platinum status with only 20,000 points. According to the terms and conditions, your Platinum status will be awarded by May 20 and valid through the end of 2025.
Frontier Platinum status provides valuable benefits, such as:
- Earn 16 travel miles and elite points per dollar spent on flights booked at flyfrontier.com
- Free carry-on and first checked bag for you and everyone on your booking
- Priority boarding in Zone 1 for you and everyone on your booking
- Seat upgrades for you and everyone on your booking
- Pet fee waiver
- 50% off a Discount Den membership
- The ability to gift Silver Elite status to one person of your choice
You'll also get all the perks of the lower Silver and Gold status tiers, including:
- No change or cancel fees (up to seven days before departure)
- Priority customer care
- Family miles pooling
Plus, in 2025, Frontier plans to add two new benefits for Platinum members: unlimited complimentary upgrades to its new first-class seats and the ability to bring a companion with you on any flight for free. The latter stands to be particularly valuable, saving you 50% on base fares when you travel with a companion.

Bottom line
If you fly Frontier, even occasionally, Platinum elite status could save you significant money on flights in 2025. Frontier's status fast-track offer makes it easy to earn by April 30, especially if you hold the Frontier Mastercard.
But if the lower Gold tier would meet your needs, remember that you can earn Gold status for 12 months when you open the Frontier Mastercard and spend $3,000 on purchases within the first 90 days from account opening.
