If you have waited your whole life for a chance to officially join the Dark Side of the Force, this is your lucky day. Today, (May 24) Disneyland is recruiting Stormtroopers who won't battle the Rebels, but will instead create "magical moments" for visitors within Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge.

As you would expect with such an elite force, the physical requirements are strict:

  • Height between 5"10 and 6 feet tall
  • Slender and athletic build
  • Ability to maintain high energy levels and physical exertion while wearing the Stormtrooper uniform (in the summer heat!)

Recruits must also be at least 18 years old and a high school graduate to enlist with the Disney Empire. Once cadets meet the basic requirements, they will be evaluated for their skills in "imaginative impersonation". In other words: how deeply are you versed in all things Star Wars and Stormtrooper?

If you're more excited about visiting Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge than patrolling it, the wait is almost over. Disneyland's Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge opens next week on May 31, though you'll need a reservation for any visits before June 23. If you missed the initial window for free public reservations, you can check for availability for an on-property hotel room as Disneyland hotel stays come with reservations included.

There’s a lot to love about the Amex Gold. It’s a fan favorite thanks to its fantastic bonus-earning rates at restaurants worldwide and at U.S. supermarkets. If you’re hitting the skies soon, you’ll also earn bonus Membership Rewards points on travel. Paired with up to $120 in Uber Cash annually (for U.S. Uber rides or Uber Eats orders, card must be added to Uber app and you can redeem with any Amex card), up to $120 in annual dining statement credits to be used with eligible partners, an up to $84 Dunkin’ credit each year at U.S. Dunkin Donuts and an up to $100 Resy credit annually, there’s no reason that foodies shouldn’t add the Amex Gold to their wallet.
