Bundle up for Disney Cruise Line's newest reveal: 'Snow' days on the AquaMouse
Get ready for an old-fashioned snow day when you sail on Disney Cruise Line's newest ship, Disney Wish, in 2022.
The AquaMouse is a "first of its kind water ride" combining "The Wonderful World of Mickey" animated shorts, lighting and special effects, plus traditional water ride features in what Disney is calling its first-ever "attraction at sea."
We recently got the scoop that when this wet and wild ride debuts on the Disney Wish, it will have two completely unique animated storylines, and the newly announced version, called Swiss Meltdown, will bring a snowy day in the Alps to the high seas.
The immersive storyline on Swiss Meltdown has guests heading off an adventure with Mickey and Minnie on a mountain sledding excursion that will feature some wild moguls and bumps along the way. After you set off in your two-person raft, the sun comes out and the "snow" begins to melt (don't tell Olaf!). You'll then be off on a wild water ride dash to the mountaintop while trying to avoid obstacles such as blasting avalanches, leaky rock walls and gushing waterfalls — oh, and the Abominable Snowman.

The story is inspired by the Emmy Award-winning "Mickey Mouse" short, "Yodelberg," and composer Christopher Willis adapted his iconic score from the episode for the attraction.
Tip: When you're riding, keep an eye out for Chip and Dale hitchhiking their way from the snow-covered mountain to Disney's private island, Castaway Cay. It may be trickier than you think to focus on finding the chipmunks with water blasters, misters and pop jets spraying you along the way!
The ship will alternate this winter-themed journey with the previously announced Scuba Scramble. Both feature animated Mickey and Minnie show scenes, lighting effects, a dark tunnel, an original soundtrack and more than 60 water effects for a two-minute ride that spans 760 feet of tubing above the upper decks.
For both versions of the AquaMouse, the animated shows are done in the same style as the newer Mickey shorts and what is featured at Hollywood Studio's Mickey and Minnie's Runaway Railway. The cartoon show scenes take place during the 75-seconds you are traveling up the tunnel across multiple 85-inch screens … while you get soaked in a raft built for two.
At the height of the show, guests will blast out of the tunnel and embark on a wild water ride around the upper decks. This adventure will also include a series of speed blasters and, finally, the grand finale: a soaring loop over the edge of the ship.
This ride will be open to cruisers 42-inches and taller.
