Beachgoers will have a new way to fly to Dominica in the Caribbean come September.

U.S. regional carrier Contour Airlines will launch new flights linking Douglas-Charles Airport (DOM) on Dominica with Cyril E. King Airport (STT) on St. Thomas and San Juan, Puerto Rico's Luis Muñoz Marín International Airport (SJU) on Sept. 24.

Contour will fly 30-seat Embraer regional jets with seats in a 2-1 layout on both routes. The airline provides complimentary beverages and snacks on board all its flights.

Here are details of the new routes:

  • DOM-STT: Thrice weekly on Mondays, Wednesdays and Saturdays from Sept. 24
  • DOM-SJU: Four times weekly on Tuesdays, Thursdays, Fridays and Sundays from Sept. 25

Both new routes can be booked via Contour's websites or via a limited partnership with American Airlines at AA.com. However, reservations on American's website are only bookable with cash and not miles.

The new Contour flights are the latest in a flurry of new U.S. air service to DOM. American began linking the island to Miami International Airport (MIA) in 2021, with United Airlines following in February 2025, schedule data from aviation analytics firm Cirium shows. And, in December, BermudAir's new subsidiary, AnguillAir, will connect DOM with Baltimore/Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport (BWI), Boston Logan International Airport (BOS) and Newark Liberty International Airport (EWR).

Contour also partially replaces air service previously provided by Silver Airways, which shut down suddenly in June. Silver flew the DOM-SJU route until March, Cirium schedules show.

Contour will compete with Caribbean Airlines on the DOM-SJU route but will be the sole operator on the DOM-STT route.

"This development strengthens connectivity within the region and improves access for visitors, returning nationals and business travelers," Denise Charles-Pemberton, the tourism, ports and international transportation minister in Dominica, said in a statement. "We look forward to working with Contour Airlines as part of our ongoing efforts to support sustainable tourism growth and showcase Dominica's natural and cultural offerings."
