Fly to Europe for 12,000 ThankYou Rewards points with Citi's latest Flying Blue transfer bonus

By stacking current offers from Citi and Air France-KLM's Flying Blue program, you can score a one-way flight to Europe for as little as 12,000 credit card points (plus fees and taxes).

Citi ThankYou Rewards members can currently access a noteworthy transfer bonus to Air France-KLM's Flying Blue program. Citi ThankYou Rewards points normally transfer to Flying Blue at a 1:1 ratio, but with this transfer bonus, you'll receive 25% more miles when you transfer points through Aug.17.

If you transfer 1,000 Citi ThankYou Rewards to Flying Blue during the promotion, you will receive 1,250 Flying Blue miles. And that's not all.

To snag a great redemption rate, take advantage of July's Flying Blue Promo Rewards promotion. While flights to Europe start from an already reasonable 20,000 miles each way in economy class, you can book a one-way economy ticket for just 15,000 miles to Europe from Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport (ATL), Denver International Airport (DEN), Dallas Fort Worth International Airport (DFW) and Raleigh-Durham International Airport (RDU) for travel from through Dec. 31 provided you book by July 31. These flights are available in both directions.

If you transfer Citi ThankYou Rewards, you would need 12,000 points to book one of these Promo Rewards deals for 15,000 Flying Blue miles, provided you transfer and book by July 31.

Here's an example of an itinerary from Atlanta to Adolfo Suarez Madrid-Barajas Airport (MAD) in Spain for just 15,000 Flying Blue miles (or 12,000 ThankYou Rewards points).

TPG's July 2024 Citi ThankYou Rewards point valuation is 1.9 cents each. However, note that some Citi transfers will not process instantly, so be sure to factor in the transfer time if you're trying to book an award with scarce availability.

Bottom line

Flying to Europe for as few as 12,000 credit card points (plus around $100 in fees and taxes) is a terrific deal, especially over the busy summer travel period when cash fares can easily be $500+.

To take advantage of these two great offers, transfer your ThankYou Rewards to Flying Blue before July 31, when the Promo Rewards offer ends. You can book flights for these prices for travel through Dec. 31, provided they are booked by July 31.
