Allegiant unveils 8 new routes across 13 cities; intro fares from $39 one-way
Allegiant Air will add eight new nonstop routes across 13 different airports, the company announced early Tuesday. Introductory fares on the new routes start at $39 one-way.
The new flights begin in November, all to warm-weather destinations in Florida. No new cities were included in the update, with Allegiant instead adding more flights between cities it already serves.
"The addition of new routes is a testament to the success of our existing service in these communities," Drew Wells, Allegiant's chief revenue officer, said in a statement. "The new service kicks off just in time to plan warm winter getaways to sought-after coastal destinations."

The big winner in Allegiant's latest route announcement is Savannah/Hilton Head International Airport (SAV) in Georgia, which landed three new nonstop routes to Florida. Flights to Punta Gorda begin Nov. 14 while service to Fort Lauderdale and St. Petersburg begins a day later.
Two other Florida airports landed multiple new routes, including Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport (FLL) in South Florida and Destin-Fort Walton Beach Airport (VPS) along the Florida Panhandle.
Allegiant's expansion also included a boost for two small Northeast airports that have limited service on major airlines.
New York Stewart International Airport (SWF) near Newburgh, New York, landed new service to Fort Lauderdale. This new route will give Allegiant five destinations from SWF. The airport, which sits about 70 miles north of Midtown Manhattan, has long been targeted as a "reliever" airport for the greater New York City area.

However, the airport has struggled to hold on to service from major carriers. SWF is currently served by just two airlines offering domestic service — Allegiant and Breeze Airways — as well as two other small international carriers (Icelandic discounter Play Airlines and Atlantic Airways, which offers seasonal service to the remote Faroe Islands in Europe's North Atlantic).
While Allegiant's new Fort Lauderdale flights won't dramatically alter SWF's route map, the addition will surely be welcomed by airport officials there.
In New Hampshire, Allegiant's new service to Sarasota will be its fourth from Portsmouth International Airport at Pease (PSM). Though Allegiant is currently the only carrier, it will soon get company from Breeze, which just announced new Portsmouth service last week.
A full list of Allegiant's eight new routes is below. All are intended to be seasonal, with Allegiant typically starting with a schedule of two flights a week on most of its new routes.
