The Hyatt Regency Churchill London Regency Club Review
On a recent trip to London we decided to try out the Hyatt Regency Churchill for the first time, and it did not disappoint. Our crew of five split up between a standard room and an Executive Suite, which you can read all about here. While the room, and especially the suite, were fantastic places to relax and rest, a standout of the property had to be the Regency Club on the 8th floor.

Book a Room With Access to the Hyatt Regency Churchill Regency Club in London
As you probably know, London is not an inexpensive city to visit, and when you are traveling with a family expenses such as meals can add up in a hurry, especially if you take some of your meals in the hotel. If you are used to traveling solo or just with adults it can be easy to say it is a waste to eat in the hotel as it costs more and takes away from experiencing more authentic local fares, but when you have young kids and jetlag in the equation, having to scamper off-property just to secure some coffee, juice, and breakfast is not ideal. If I am on vacation with my kids, I want things to be as easy as possible, and this means sometimes eating in the hotel.
When there is a Hyatt Regency Club or similar available it makes things so much easier with my girls as we can get breakfast, snacks, drinks, etc. quickly, easily, and without any extra cost thanks to being Hyatt Diamond members. However, even if you are not a Hyatt Diamond member you can still secure access to the Regency Club by spending additional points and/or booking a Club Room. Sometimes that extra expense isn't really worth it, but at the Hyatt Regency Churchill, I would argue it can absolutely be worth it.
At the Hyatt Regency Churchill you can book a room with Club access either by booking that room outright, though it will cost more in most cases than a standard room. You can also pay the standard rate for a base room (which will likely cost more than advance purchase rates or AAA discounts) and then use 3,000 Gold Passport points per night to upgrade to a Club Room. Alternatively, you could choose to spend 33,000 points per night for a Club Room instead of the 25,000 points required for a standard room. Paying 8,000 additional points per night for a Club Room is a substantial charge, but this is a case where it is worth considering if you have the Hyatt (or Chase Ultimate Reward) points available and think you will make good use of the lounge.
Breakfast at the Hyatt Regency Churchill Regency Club in London
The Hyatt Churchill Regency Club is open from 7AM - 11PM daily and serves breakfast from 7AM - 11AM, which I really appreciated since so many there are travelers from North America who may not drag themselves for breakfast until a little later than normal.
For breakfast there were typically 2-3 hot items available including things like scrambled eggs, potatoes, omelettes, and mushrooms. The scrambled eggs and mushrooms were truly excellent, as in I am craving some now as I sit thousands of miles away!

There were also more continental offerings such as bread, salmon, sliced meats, pastries, muffins, fruit, and yogurts.

There were also a variety of fruit juices and strong coffee available both via a fancy machine and the wonderful attendants that periodically come around to the tables.

Our breakfasts in the lounge were very enjoyable. Contrary to how we sometimes feel in Clubs, we didn't just feel like we were loading up on food just to feel full, we actually enjoyed the experience. Everything from the food offerings to the little details such as the type of water and jams available made it just feel special.

Everyone in our group from the one year old to grandma found plenty available at breakfast to make them happy.

Evening Drinks and Snacks at the Hyatt Regency Churchill Regency Club in London
In the evenings from 5:30 - 7:30 there were passed small bites like cooked shrimp that came around, as well as frequently replenished items on the buffet including roasted vegetables, breads, soup, fruit, desserts, and cheeses.

After our first full day in London we were all exhausted and opted to just make a light meal out of the evening offerings in the Hyatt Churchill Regency Club. I wouldn't want to do that every night, but it was the perfect way to save money and energy after that first long day. I highly recommend that strategy if you are in a similar situation.

There was also wines, beer, and drinks available complimentary in the lounge in the evenings, though I believe that beer is available in the cases all day.

Between the breakfasts, evening snacks, and even just the sodas and bottled waters, we saved hundreds of dollars on food and drink costs while in London thanks to the Regency Club. Your savings might not be that high, but because there were five of us and I know we would have turned to room service at times if the Club wasn't available, I am 100% confident we saved that much.
Not only were the food and drinks very good for a lounge, but the service was also excellent. Never before have I been to a Regency Club with such attentive service. From the comfortable seats, to the lovely place settings, to the constant coffee refills, to the warm smiles, this place was fantastic.

I also want to add that I have read earlier reports that there was an adults only and family friendly separate lounges, but there didn't seem to be two lounges in operation on our stay. Perhaps that is only in effect on certain days of the week. Either way, we were able to get seating right away in the lounge on all of our visits. There were children present, but it was not to a "romper room" type level during our stay.
Have you visited to the Hyatt Regency Club at the Hyatt Regency Churchill in London? What were your impressions? If you don't have Hyatt Diamond status, would you pay extra to access the lounge on future visits?
