This is a recurring post, regularly updated with new information and offers.

Disney+ is a much-loved entertainment fixture in many homes — approximately 125 million households across over 80 countries, to be exact — for Disney shows and movies, old and new.

Since its release in 2019, the streaming service has also added packages that include access to ESPN and Hulu, with the option to bundle their package with a subscription to Max (HBO). Disney+ has since added access to ABC News Live and curated playlists for Premium subscribers.

If you're not already a Disney+ subscriber, there are several plans to choose from, with pricing between $9.99 and $29.99 per month. There are a few ways to save on your Disney+ subscription, which we will discuss in this guide, but Disney+ can also help you save money on your next Disney World vacation. Here's how.

Disney World hotel offer for Disney+ subscribers

This summer, Disney+ subscribers can take advantage of a limited-time Disney World hotel discount with room rates starting as low as $99 per night. This special rate is available for stays of two nights or longer on most nights between June 29 and July 31. The discount is eligible at the following hotels and room types:

If you are curious about just how much you can save using this offer, let's compare the regular room rate during this time period versus the discounted rate for a four-night stay at Port Orleans Resort. The regular nightly rate for a standard fifth-sleeper room is $337 per night (plus taxes and fees), for a four-night total of $1,516.52.

With this discount, you'll pay just $169 per night (plus taxes and fees) for a total of $760.36. That's a 50% savings ... not bad for a subscription that you can get for no out-of-pocket cost with the right credit card.

The best credit cards for Disney+

There are a few ways to save on your Disney+ subscription.

The base price for Disney+ is $9.99 per month with ads, and Disney+ Premium with no ads costs $15.99 per month or $159.99 per year. Several Disney Bundle plans allow you to combine Disney+ with subscriptions to Hulu, ESPN and Max.

Luckily, a few credit cards can help you eliminate or reduce out-of-pocket costs for Disney+.

DISNEY+

The Disney® Premier Visa® Card (see rates and fees) gives you up to $16.99 back in statement credits for up to three consecutive months on qualifying Disney Bundle subscription purchases.

American Express also occasionally has an Amex Offer that issues cardholders a monthly statement credit for a limited time on Disney+ charges.

Moreover, The Platinum Card® from American Express provides up to $25 per month ($300 annually) in digital entertainment statement credits that you can use toward Disney+, among other eligible services (subject to auto-renewal; enrollment is required). With the exception of the highest-priced premium bundle, you can cover the full cost of your monthly subscription using the digital entertainment credit.

If you don't have any of the above cards that offer statement credits for Disney+ or would rather use a different card for Disney+ charges, there are other cards to consider.

Some of the best cards for streaming services include:

  • Chase Sapphire Preferred® Card (see rates and fees): Earn 3 points per dollar spent on select streaming services, including Apple Music, Apple TV, Disney+, ESPN+, Fubo TV, Max, Hulu, Netflix, Pandora, Paramount+, Peacock, Showtime, SiriusXM, Sling, Spotify, YouTube Premium, YouTube TV and Vudu.
  • Blue Cash Everyday® Card from American Express: Get up to $84 annually (up to $7 monthly) as a statement credit for Disney Streaming purchases. Valid for U.S. websites only (subject to auto-renewal; enrollment is required).
  • Blue Cash Preferred® Card from American Express: Get up to $120 annually (up to $10 monthly) as a statement credit for Disney Streaming purchases. Valid for U.S. websites only (subject to auto-renewal; enrollment is required). Cardholders also earn 6% cash back on select U.S. streaming services. Cash back is received in the form of Reward Dollars that can be redeemed as a statement credit and at Amazon.com checkout.
  • Capital One Savor Cash Rewards Credit Card: Get 3% cash back on select streaming services, including Netflix, Hulu and Disney+.

Even if you don't have any of these cards, eligible Verizon account holders can get a Disney Bundle with Disney+, Hulu and ESPN+ for $10 per month.

Using Disney+ when you travel

DISNEY+

Disney+ is great for travelers who might find themselves on a plane without good (or any) Wi-Fi for hours. With most Disney+ plans, you can use the mobile app to download as many Disney+ shows and movies as your device can handle. This means your family members can watch all their favorites on the go without connecting to Wi-Fi.

You can download shows on up to 10 devices and stream up to four at a time (based on your subscription plan), so you can load your whole family's devices with shows to watch during your next flight or road trip. There's also an option for kid profiles that limit your child to shows rated TV-7FV and G.

Disneyland and Disney World's televisions have been upgraded to allow you to log in to your Disney+ account and watch your favorite shows and movies from the comfort of your hotel room.

Bottom line

For years, Disney+ has been affordable, helping to keep the family entertained both at home and on the road. And with special discounts like the summertime Disney World hotel deal for Disney+ subscribers, your subscription can help you save hundreds on your next vacation.
