Airfare deals are typically only available on limited dates. We recommend you use Google Flights to find dates to fly, then book through an online travel agency such as Orbitz or Expedia, which allows you to cancel flights without penalty by 11pm Eastern Time within one day of booking. However, if you’re using The Platinum Card® from American Express, you’ll need to book directly with the airline or through the Amex Travel portal to get 5x MR points. Remember: Fares may disappear quickly, so book right away and take advantage of Orbitz or Expedia’s courtesy cancellation if you’re unable to get the time away from work or family.
Both Oneworld (British Airways, American Airlines and Iberia) and SkyTeam (Delta, KLM) carriers are offering discounted fares between several US cities and Spain in premium economy. We're seeing round-trip premium economy fares from $761 with Delta — between New York (JFK) and Madrid (MAD). US cities with the cheapest fares include JFK, Los Angeles (LAX) and Miami (MIA) to Spanish cities such as Barcelona (BCN), Madrid (MAD) and Mallorca (PMI). There's scattered availability between late 2018 and early 2019, depending on your route.
To search for these flights, head to Google Flights and enter your origin and destination cities. Be sure to select the premium economy option from the dropdown menu and then scroll through the calendar to find dates that work for you. Then, click through to book directly with the airline.
