When you see a chance to book a business class fare to Europe at a discount, you have to jump at it. This is especially true when you're talking about a perennially popular destination such as London.

This latest deal features business-class tickets to London's Heathrow Airport (LHR) and London Gatwick Airport (LGW) from East Coast cities like Newark and New York City, as well as Phoenix and even San Diego, at notable savings from current prices.

We found some business-class seats for less than $800. While those rare finds are available, the majority of the prices in this sale range from $1,800 to $2,900 -- which are still nice prices to pay for business class.

Airlines such as JetBlue, Delta and United are getting in on this sale, but nearly all the best prices we found were on Icelandair. Additionally, almost all the best prices we saw involved layovers.

Iceland's flagship airline isn't part of an alliance, so before you book one of the flights we mention below, we suggest signing up for the carrier's Saga Club frequent flyer program.

With this business-class deal, however, you don't have to worry about paying extra for checked luggage.

The sale features itineraries for travel taking place between August 2022 and March 2023. Even better, some routes include the Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year's Eve holidays.

Thanks to Scott's Cheap Flights for first alerting us to this deal. Its Premium membership is available for $49 per year, while the Elite tier option is available for $199 per year.

Sample flights

Icelandair has a number of business-class tickets from Baltimore to Gatwick in the fall on sale. All of these discounted tickets involve a layover, including some lengthy stops. However, we found this gem in late October, for $959 round trip. That's a ridiculously cheap price.

Here's another eye-popping fare we found -- Icelandair business class from Seattle to Gatwick for only $1,040 round trip. That's massive savings — so understandably, there isn't much availability at this price.

If you're in Seattle and thinking of a London trip, don't sleep on this one.

Another great Icelandair deal is available out of Denver. You can fly business class from Denver International Airport (DEN) to Gatwick in early December for just $778 round trip.

That's obviously an absurdly good deal. However, there's a catch. The return flight involves an overnight layover in Keflavik, Iceland. This is such a sweet deal that it's worth considering and planning a day trip to explore that area.

In fact, you can read TPG's writeup on Keflavik Airport and how you can do a quick exploration around the city. You can even visit the legendary Blue Lagoon during your layover.

The same deal is out of Minnesota. Icelandair, the clear MVP of this fare sale, has round-trip tickets at the front of the plane out of Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport (MSP) for the low, low price of $909.

The return flight involves the same 25-hour layover in Iceland as the Denver itinerary. However, that's a crazy price for this fare.

Here's one more. Boston to Gatwick in October is available for $902 round trip. There's a day-long layover involved here too, but this time it's on the departure flight.
