Airfare deals are typically only available on limited dates. We recommend you use Google Flights to find dates to fly, then book through an online travel agency such as Orbitz or Expedia, which allows you to cancel flights without penalty by 11pm Eastern Time within one day of booking. However, if you're using The Platinum Card® from American Express, you'll need to book directly with the airline or through the Amex Travel portal to get 5x MR points. Remember: Fares may disappear quickly, so book right away and take advantage of Orbitz or Expedia's courtesy cancellation if you're unable to get the time away from work or family.

Time to start brushing up on your Spanish because fights to Barcelona (BCN) and Madrid (MAD) have dropped as low as $269 round-trip! These fares are available as soon as August 2019 and carry well into 2020.

While its pretty common to see cheap fares from the Northeast to Spain, it's much less likely to see them from cities like Charlotte (CLT), Dallas (DFW), Phoenix (PHX) and Raleigh (RDU) — all of which are listed below, among others. It appears that Delta is attacking American Airlines hubs with these low fares.

These fares are in basic economy so you'll have to pay extra for a checked bag or to select your seat.

To search, head to Google Flights and enter your origin and destination cities. Scroll through the calendar function to find dates and prices that work for you. Finally, click through to book directly with the airline or through an OTA like Priceline or Expedia. To get the absolute best price on some routes, you can search on SkyScanner or Momondo and book through an OTA. Just note that it may be harder to deal with some of the smaller OTA's customer service if you want to change your flight or if something goes wrong.
