Airfare deals are typically only available on limited dates. We recommend you use Google Flights to find dates to fly, then book through an online travel agency, such as Orbitz or Expedia, which allows you to cancel flights without penalty by 11pm Eastern Time within one day of booking. However, if you're using the American Express Platinum Card, you'll need to book directly with the airline or through Amex Travel portal to get 5x MR points. Remember: Fares may disappear quickly, so book right away and take advantage of Orbitz or Expedia's courtesy cancellation if you're unable to get the time away from work or family.

Fly from New York (JFK) to either Zurich (ZRH) or Helsinki (HEL) on full-service Oneworld carriers from just $330 round-trip. You'll be able to fly with American Airlines to Zurich or with partner Finnair to Helsinki on the routes, with availability extending from September through early December 2017. Some of the fares we found include a minimum stay of at least one week, but that depends on the route and carrier.

Because these are full-service airlines as opposed to low-cost carriers, you won't have to pay for extras like checked bags, in-flight meals and more. To search for availability, play around with Google Flights to find dates that work for you and then book with Orbitz, Expedia or through the airline itself.
