Deal Alert: Turkish Airlines to Istanbul from $617 Round-Trip
Update: Some offers mentioned below are no longer available. View the current offers here.
Airfare deals are typically only available on limited dates. We recommend that you use Google Flights to find dates to fly, then book through an online travel agency, such as Orbitz, which allows you to cancel flights without penalty by 11pm Eastern Time within one day of booking. Remember: Fares may disappear quickly, so book right away and take advantage of Orbitz's courtesy cancellation if you're unable to travel.
It's been a few months since our last deal to Istanbul, but today Turkish Airlines is offering reduced rates on nonstop service between the US and Turkey. TPG recently traveled to Turkey, and had an exciting trip riding in hot-air balloons and exploring Cappadocia, where he stayed in a cave hotel.
One of the cheapest flights we found is nonstop service between Los Angeles (LAX) and Istanbul (IST) for $617. East Coast travelers can also take advantage of some discounts, with flights from New York (JFK) and Boston (BOS) starting at $649.
If you decide to visit Istanbul, just be aware of the possible repercussions following your trip. After TPG's visit earlier this summer, he was flagged with an "SSSS" mark, indicating that he required advanced screening when passing through TSA checkpoints.
