Airfare deals are typically only available on limited dates. We recommend that you use Google Flights to find dates to fly, then book through an online travel agency, such as Orbitz or Expedia, which allows you to cancel flights without penalty by 11pm Eastern Time within one day of booking. However, if you're using the American Express Platinum Card, you'll need to book directly with the airline or through Amex Travel portal to get 5x MR points. Remember: Fares may disappear quickly, so book right away and take advantage of Orbitz or Expedia's courtesy cancellation if you're unable to get the time away from work or family.

Norwegian has just announced a sale on flights from the US to the French Caribbean. Right now, you can book tickets from New York (JFK), Providence (PVD) and Fort Lauderdale (FLL) to Fort-de-France (FDF) and Pointe-à-Pitre (PTP) with fares starting at $178 round-trip. Should you fancy buying just a one-way ticket from one of these cities, you'll pay just $50. These prices are widely available from October 2017 through March 2018.

The low-cost carrier operates 737-800s on these routes and we've had great experiences when using Norwegian to fly to Martinique. Keep in mind that Norwegian offers a free personal item and carry-on, but you'll have to pay extra if you want to choose a seat or check a bag.

To search for these low fares, we recommend using Google Flights, then book through Norwegian's website for the lowest possible price.
