Sample flights

Start by browsing Google Flights to find the cheapest dates. If you're departing from Boston and want to stay longer than a week, a Jan. 28-Feb. 6 round-trip journey is one of the cheapest options.

Maximize your purchase

If you fly Delta regularly, use one of Delta's cobranded credit cards, such as the Delta SkyMiles® Platinum American Express Card, to earn bonus points on your purchase and get additional Delta benefits. For more information, check out our full review of the Delta Platinum Amex.

If you don't have a cobranded card, use a card that earns bonus points on airfare purchases, such as:

  • Chase Sapphire Preferred Card: 2 points per dollar spent on travel
  • American Express® Gold Card: 3 points per dollar spent on airfare when booked directly with the airline or through amextravel.com
  • The Platinum Card® from American Express: 5 points per dollar spent on airfare when booked directly with the airline or through American Express Travel®, on up to $500,000 of these purchases per calendar year, then 1 point per dollar
  • Chase Sapphire Reserve: 3 points per dollar spent on airfare

Bottom line

These discounted Delta flight options might not last long, so be sure to book your winter trip to Cancun as soon as you can.
