AvGeek deal alert: Boeing gear, clothes and collectibles for as low as $2 this weekend
If you're an aviation enthusiast or know one and you're looking for a special gift, this sale is for you. Boeing has all sorts of aircraft-themed gear and collectibles — from shirts and hats to model planes — on sale in its online store.
Now through Sunday, July 17, you can get deep discounts on much of the inventory in the Boeing shop online. The deals include 50% to 60% off some popular items and you can snag some branded merchandise for as little as a few dollars. Boeing is offering these discounts as part of its anniversary sale. The aircraft manufacturing giant was founded on July 15, 1916, in Seattle.

Whether you’re looking to add to your Boeing memorabilia right away or start Christmas shopping early for the aviation enthusiast in your family, this weekend could be a good time to check out the deals.
For example, a long-sleeve T-shirt adorned with Boeing’s logo is priced at $10 — a discount of 50% from the normal price.
A Boeing baseball cap goes for as little as $4.80.
There are also smaller goodies like coffee tumblers, earbuds, hats and key chains that fall between $2 and $6.
What some aviation fans might find most attractive are the discounts on model aircraft. You can find model planes for 30% off, which can mean well over $100 in savings, depending on the aircraft featured.
This includes modern-day Boeing planes with major airline livery, like a British Airways 777-300 or an American Airlines 787-9 — each with savings of $114.
There are also 30% discounts available on some historic models, like the American Airlines Boeing DC-3.

Maximize your purchase
Be sure to use a credit card for your online shopping that earns you the most points possible. While online retail doesn’t generally fall under one of those bonus categories that can earn 3 points and miles per dollar or more (like travel, dining or groceries), there are a number of cards that reward everyday purchases at a rate of 2 miles and points (respectively) per dollar such as the Capital One Venture Rewards Credit Card and the Marriott Bonvoy Boundless Card.
Bottom line
If you didn’t exhaust your summer shopping budget on sale events like Prime Day earlier this week, you might consider getting a head start on some stocking stuffers for the aviation fan in your family. Just be sure to tap into Boeing’s anniversary sale before it's over on Sunday.
