Quick summary
Update: Some offers mentioned below are no longer available. View the current offers here.
There's nothing quite like New York City in the winter — or any time of year for that matter, but I digress. The point is you can fly to New York for nearly all of 2022 (yes, you read that correctly) from a variety of U.S. cities for less than $200 round-trip, and from some cities for less than $100.
This deal was originally sent out by Thrifty Traveler Premium, which for $7.99 monthly or $49.99 annually, will send news of cheap flights, award flight sales and business-class deals straight to your email.
Deal basics

Routes: ATL/CHS/DFW/DTW/RSW/FLL/JAX/MIA/SAV/TPA and others to LGA/JFK/EWR.
How to book: Head to Google Flights to search your desired dates of travel and route, before booking through the airline.
Travel dates: January-November 2022.
Sample flights
All of the flights under $100 to New York depart from the South, including:
- Atlanta (ATL), starting at $77, nonstop.
- Miami (MIA), starting at $79, nonstop.
- Charleston, South Carolina (CHS)/Dallas (DFW)/Fort Lauderdale (FLL)/Jacksonville, Florida (JAX)/Sarasota, Florida (SRQ)/Tampa (TPA)/Savannah, Georgia (SAV), starting at $96, nonstop.
Let's start with this nonstop flight in January from Atlanta to EWR for $77 on Delta.

This is in Delta's basic economy class, so although you won't get to choose your seat, you will be able to carry on a bag, so expect to pay just $77. Otherwise, consider upgrading to their main cabin for seat selection and the flexibility to change your flight if need be.
Since Miami-New York is a popular route for travelers based in both cities, let's try this nonstop round-trip fare for $79 from MIA to EWR for $79 on American.
This flight is in AA's main cabin, which includes seat selection and one carry-on.
It's important to note that these fares work in reverse, so New York City-area travelers can also take advantage of this deal by swapping your origin and destination cities, as shown below with this JFK-CHS nonstop fare for $97 on Delta.

Bottom line
This deal includes other cheap round-trip flights to New York from various cities, including West Palm Beach, Florida (PBI), for $116, San Francisco (SFO) for $136 and Raleigh, North Carolina (RDU), for $126. Many of them are nonstop as well.
As of Dec. 14, proof of vaccination is required for all those age 5 and older to access most indoor establishments, including restaurants, bars, theaters and gyms, throughout New York City. A statewide mask mandate is in effect throughout New York until at least mid-January for places not requiring vaccination proof.
