With Alaska Airlines and Hawaiian Airlines merging their loyalty programs into Atmos Rewards, all existing Alaska Airlines credit cards have been rebranded under the Atmos umbrella, with updated designs and refreshed benefits. The standout addition is the Atmos Rewards Summit card, a new premium product aimed at frequent flyers who want elevated perks and streamlined rewards.

With a $395 annual fee, the Atmos Rewards Summit card offers a solid mix of travel benefits. Many of these will feel familiar to anyone who has carried an airline cobranded card, but the Summit sets itself apart with perks designed to improve the day-of-travel experience and accelerate progress toward elite status.

A good credit score of 670 or higher is recommended for the best approval odds. Let's take a closer look at the Atmos Rewards Summit card to see whether it deserves a spot in your wallet.

Atmos Rewards Summit card welcome offer

New Atmos Rewards Summit applicants can earn 80,000 bonus points and a 25,000-point Global Companion Award after spending $4,000 on purchases in the first 90 days from account opening.

Based on TPG's October 2025 valuations, this welcome offer is worth $1,575.

THE POINTS GUYBank of America issues this card, so you'll most likely be subject to the 2/3/4 rule. This means you can only get approved for two new Bank of America cards in a 30-day period, three cards in a 12-month period and four cards in a 24-month period.

Atmos Rewards Summit card benefits

The Atmos Rewards Summit has many benefits, including several airline-specific benefits with Alaska Airlines and Hawaiian Airlines, that can help offset the annual fee.

Travel benefits

• Free checked bag: When paying with the Atmos Rewards Summit, you and up to six guests on the same reservation can enjoy a free checked bag on Alaska and Hawaiian flights.
• Preferred boarding: You and up to six guests on the same reservation will receive preferred boarding on Alaska and Hawaiian flights.
• Free points sharing: You can send points back and forth to up to 10 other Atmos Rewards members at no charge. This is a very underrated benefit that most cards either don't offer or charge for. This can be a great perk for families, as it can make it possible to send your child some points to fly home for the holidays or to a loved one if you just want to gift them points.
• No change fees: Pay no change fee when making same-day changes on Alaska Airlines flights. This benefit will extend to Hawaiian Airlines-operated flights once both carriers are operating on the same reservation system, expected in 2026.
• Departure delay voucher: Cardholders receive a $50 voucher for Alaska Airlines flights delayed two or more hours or cancelled within 24 hours, regardless of the reason. This benefit will also extend to Hawaiian Airlines-operated flights in 2026.
• Waived award fees on partner flights: You can save up to $12.50 per person one-way when using points to book partner award tickets.

Lounge access

You'll receive eight Alaska lounge passes per year (two per quarter). If you're a current Alaska Lounge member, you can share these passes with your friends and family. Additionally, as a cardholder, you'll receive access to an elevated premium bar experience in the lounges through 2026.

To enter with a pass, you must be traveling on a same-day ticketed Alaska, Hawaiian, Oneworld or partner airline flight. A standard day pass costs $65, but I value Alaska lounge access at $35 per visit.

Elite status boosts

• Anniversary status points: Receive 10,000 status points every card anniversary. This points boost puts you halfway to earning Atmos Rewards Silver status.
• Faster path to elite status: Earn 1 status point for every $2 spent, with no spending cap. By spending $20,000 with the Summit Card, you'll earn Atmos Silver status (equivalent to Oneworld Ruby status). If you spend $60,000 with the card, you'll earn Atmos Rewards Gold status (equivalent to Oneworld Sapphire status). This is the fastest path to status available on any airline credit card.

Global Companion Awards

Each anniversary, you'll receive an annual 25,000-point Global Companion Award and can earn a second 100,000-point Global Companion Award after spending $60,000 or more with your card. These awards essentially function as discounts off a second award ticket on any Alaska, Hawaiian or partner award ticket in any cabin class.

Let's say you and your partner want to go to London next year on the recently announced Seattle-Tacoma International Airport (SEA) to Heathrow Airport (LHR) flight in business class. If each ticket costs 55,000 points, the primary traveler will pay 55,000 points while the companion's flight will cost 30,000 points, for a grand total of 85,000 points for two seats (plus taxes and fees).

Other benefits

Other key perks include:

• A $120 Global Entry/TSA PreCheck credit every four years
• An auto rental collision damage waiver
• Extended warranty protection
• Lost luggage reimbursement
• No foreign transaction fees
• Roadside dispatch
• Travel and emergency assistance services
• Access to Visa Infinite concierge services

These benefits justify the card's $395 annual fee, in my opinion. However, I would have liked to see a full Alaska Lounge membership and more statement credits. Other top airline cobranded credit cards offer some sort of statement credits and full access to their respective airline lounges.

Earning points on the Atmos Rewards Summit card

Atmos Rewards Summit cardholders earn:

• 3 points per dollar spent on Alaska Airlines and Hawaiian Airlines purchases (4.5% return based on our October 2025 valuations)
• 3 points per dollar spent on eligible dining purchases (4.5%)
• 3 points per dollar spent on foreign transactions (4.5%)
• 1 point per dollar spent on all other purchases (1.5%)

You'll also earn a 10% rewards bonus on all points earned from card purchases if you have an eligible Bank of America account.

This card is one of the few to offer bonus earnings specifically on everyday/nonbonused purchases you make abroad. I travel internationally multiple times a year and am strongly considering adding this card to my wallet for these international earning rates alone.

While the bonus earnings on foreign transactions are outstanding, the earning rates on Alaska and Hawaiian Airlines purchases are standard for an airline card. The earnings on other general everyday spending categories are quite lackluster and don't move the needle for me.

Redeeming points on the Atmos Rewards Summit card

With the Atmos Rewards Summit, you have multiple redemption options, but the best method is to redeem your points for flights on Alaska, Hawaiian, Oneworld or partner airlines.

Atmos Rewards will maintain the old Alaska Airlines partner award chart for now, so there are plenty of sweet spot redemptions.

For example, from 75,000 points, you can fly from the West Coast to Tokyo in Japan Airlines business class or to Taipei, Taiwan, in Starlux's ultramodern, swanky business class.

I also plan to continue using Atmos Rewards points to book short-haul American Airlines flights from 4,500 points one-way within California.

Transferring points on the Atmos Rewards Summit card

Unlike most cobranded airline credit cards, the Atmos Rewards Summit has access to transfer partners. However, transferring to these partners is a poor redemption method I don't recommend. Currently, Atmos Rewards has five hotel transfer partners:

• IHG One Rewards (1:1 transfer ratio; available only through early November)
• Marriott Bonvoy (1:1)
• I Prefer Hotel Rewards (1:2)
• Shangri-La Circle (8:1)
• Wyndham Rewards (1:1)

The only case where I can recommend transferring Atmos points to hotel partners is if you have a specific hotel redemption you're ready to book and need to top off your balance.

Which cards compete with the Atmos Rewards Summit card?

The biggest competitors to the Atmos Rewards Summit are other cobranded Atmos Rewards cards. However, if you're looking for more flexibility with redeeming rewards or unlimited lounge access, you may be better suited to a general travel rewards card.

• If you want a lower annual fee: The Atmos™ Rewards Ascent Visa Signature® credit card has an affordable $95 annual fee and offers perks like an annual companion fare and elevated bonus earnings on Alaska and Hawaiian Airlines flights. • If you want more lounge access: The Capital One Venture X Rewards Credit Card has a relatively high $395 annual fee and comes with unlimited lounge access to Capital One and Priority Pass lounges, an annual travel credit, anniversary bonus miles and a more robust suite of travel protections. • If you want no annual fee: The Bilt Mastercard® earns points in multiple bonus categories, and you earn points by paying your rent with no transaction fees (up to 100,000 points per calendar year). Is the Atmos Rewards Summit card worth it?

The new Atmos Rewards Summit card is worth it if you fly Alaska or Hawaiian Airlines or travel internationally often. It earns a valuable rewards currency, provides lounge access and delivers unmatched earnings abroad. However, if you don't need the premium features, the $95 Atmos Rewards Ascent may be a better fit.

Bottom line

The Atmos Rewards Summit card offers a unique value proposition. If you travel abroad often, the impressive earning rate on international purchases is eye-opening and innovative.

If you're looking to earn Atmos points, fast-track gaining elite status and travel abroad frequently, this is a great card for you. Whether you fly on Alaska or Hawaiian Airlines frequently, this new card should be on your radar — it's certainly on mine.
