Chase Sapphire Reserve Cardholders will enjoy enhanced benefits starting Jan. 1, 2026, with no biannual split on the up to $500 in prepaid booking credits with The Edit, plus a new $250 credit for select Chase Travel℠ hotels.

If you're a Chase Sapphire Reserve® (see rates and fees) cardholder, you might be familiar with The Edit, Chase's premium collection of more than 1,000 properties bookable via Chase Travel℠.

If you haven't explored what you can reserve with The Edit, take a peek. Some of the properties are pricey — like Chilean desert oasis Tierra Atacama, which costs upward of $2,860 per night. Others are more affordable — like the Kimpton Epic Hotel in Miami, which starts around $279 per night.

Your Sapphire Reserve includes perks that offer real value and are easy to use. Now, as part of the card's recent refresh, Sapphire Reserve cardholders can enjoy a $500 The Edit credit.

Here's what you need to know to maximize the value of The Edit credit featured on the Sapphire Reserve.

Chase Sapphire Reserve The Edit credit details

Unlike the $500 Chase Travel credit featured as part of the welcome offer, the Sapphire Reserve's The Edit credit — which applies to prepaid stays of at least two nights— can't be used all at once.

Cardholders will automatically receive up to $250 in statement credits on qualifying purchases between Jan. 1 and June 30 and another $250 between July 1 and Dec. 31 each year. As long as you book a stay at a property from Chase's curated The Edit portfolio, you'll see the credit post within six to eight weeks, per Chase (though several TPG staffers have reported seeing similar credits post much sooner).

If you have authorized users on your account, their Chase Travel purchases can trigger the credit. Keep this in mind if you've earmarked a property where you want to use this credit.

Existing cardholders won't have access to the $500 The Edit credit immediately. Instead, we have to wait until Oct. 26. New cardholders can start using their credit as soon as their card arrives in the mail.

Perks of booking a stay with The Edit include:

  • A $100 property credit
  • Daily breakfast for two
  • Room upgrades (if available)
  • Early check-in and late checkout (if available)

All travel booked via Chase Travel — including The Edit reservations — now earns 8 points per dollar spent, a nice increase from the previous 5 points per dollar spent on flights, but a decrease from the previous 10 points per dollar spent on hotels and car rentals.

But similar to the popular $300 travel credit (which does not have to be used within Chase Travel), the $500 The Edit credit does not earn Ultimate Rewards points. You'll begin earning points on Chase Travel purchases once you've used up The Edit credit.

How to maximize The Edit credit on the Sapphire Reserve

With a $795 annual fee, maximizing the perks of the Sapphire Reserve is important — you want to make sure the value you get out of a card with a big price tag is worth it.

If you're a fan of stacking deals, now is the best time to apply for the Sapphire Reserve for two main reasons.

The Sapphire Reserve's welcome bonus is offering new applicants can 125,000 bonus points after spending $6,000 on purchases in the first three months of account opening.

Maximize the value of this credit by booking your travel together, whether it's a flight and a rental car, a few nights at a hotel or a fun activity on your next trip.

Bottom line

The Sapphire Reserve's The Edit credit is a solid new perk on a card that's recently seen a significant annual fee increase.

If you want to get the most value from your card, maxing out the statement credits — and using the benefits associated with booking a stay at one of The Edit properties, such as the $100 property credit — is a good place to start.
