They say looks aren't everything but let's be honest, it's hard to ignore the striking American Express® Gold Card in Rose Gold.

Originally available in late 2018 (and briefly by referral only in 2019), the card color is now back by popular demand for new cardholders. Amex says that in a recent survey, they found that three in five consumers would be interested in choosing their own card design.

With its pinkish gold hue and metallic texture, I'd argue Amex's Gold card in Rose Gold is one of the best-looking credit cards out there. Thankfully, the card is great on the inside too. It earns top marks for dining and supermarkets, earning a spot on our lists of best cards for both categories.

The Amex Gold Card — with Rose Gold and Gold color option — offers 4x Membership Rewards points at restaurants, including takeout and delivery in the U.S., and at U.S. supermarkets (up to $25,000 per calendar year, then 1x), 3x points on flights booked directly with the airline or and an up to $120 dining credit (up to $10 per month in statement credits with participating partners, enrollment required).

You can also reap the rewards of a brand-new benefit: up to $120 annually ($10 per month) in Uber Cash, which can be used on Uber Eats orders or Uber rides in the U.S. Just make sure to add your Gold Card to your Uber account first.

Should you fully maximize the annual Uber perk (up to $120) and dining credit perk (up to $120), you'll be able to offset most of the $250 annual fee (see rates and fees) on the card. And that doesn't include the other benefits the card offers. Enrollment required for select benefits.

New applicants who are approved for the Gold card and revived Rose Gold option can earn 60,000 Membership Rewards points after spending $4,000 on eligible purchases with the card within the first six months of account opening. Based on TPG’s latest valuations, that bonus is worth $1,200.

Bottom line

Not only is Amex bringing back its popular Rose Gold design, but it's also unveiling a new Uber benefit alongside one of the highest welcome bonuses we've seen on this card since it relaunched several years ago.

If you care about how your card looks (and earns), we recommend jumping on this offer in case it goes back into the Amex vault.

And if you already have the Amex Gold card in the traditional yellow gold variant, fear not. You can product change to the Rose Gold version simply by calling Amex.
