Airfare deals are typically only available on limited dates. We recommend you use Google Flights to find dates to fly, then book through an online travel agency, such as Orbitz or Expedia, which allows you to cancel flights without penalty by 11pm Eastern Time within one day of booking. However, if you’re using The Platinum Card® from American Express you’ll need to book directly with the airline or through Amex Travel portal to get 5x MR points. Remember: Fares may disappear quickly, so book right away and take advantage of Orbitz or Expedia’s courtesy cancellation if you’re unable to get the time away from work or family.
Emirates is once again offering its very popular "book together" promotion for Valentine's Day. This iteration of the deal expands on last month's two-for-one sale, adding additional departure and destination cities, including rare fares from the Midwest and Texas to multiple Indian and Middle Eastern destinations. The lowest fares are between New York and Italy or Greece on the carrier's fifth-freedom routes. Fares start at $799 round-trip in economy for two passengers between JFK and Milan (MXP) and $899 round-trip for two passengers between Newark (EWR) and Athens (ATH).
This sale includes a number of Midwest and West Coast cities, and some fares may even be slightly cheaper than advertised, so your best bet is to use Google Flights to search for the best dates, and then book directly through Emirates. Note that you must book between now and February 17 to take advantage of the discounted fares.
Business- and first-class discounts are also available. For example, you can book flights between Dallas (DFW) and Mumbai (BOM) starting at $6,799 round-trip for two passengers in business class, or Chicago (ORD) to Chennai (MAA) from $16,479 for two passengers in first class.
