American Airlines Flights Grounded Due to Technical Glitch
Update: As of 2:35pm ET, AA is back online!
"We have resolved connectivity issues that led to a ground stop today at our Chicago, Dallas/Fort Worth and Miami hubs. We apologize for the inconvenience and are working to get our customers on their way as soon as possible."
Nope, it's not United for a change. Today, American Airlines has been experiencing "technical issues" impacting several airports in the US. Of course, being that these affected airports are some of the airline's largest hubs, flights are delayed or canceled throughout AA's network.
From American:
We’re working to resolve technical issues impacting several airports as quickly as possible. We will provide updates and more information as they become available. We apologize to our customers for the inconvenience.
A spokesperson we corresponded with confirmed that the issues are affecting Chicago-O'Hare (ORD), Dallas/Fort Worth (DFW) and Miami International (MIA). The FAA is reporting that American flights are currently under a ground hold, with an update expected at 2:30pm ET. If you're planning to fly American today, be sure to check your flight status before departing for the airport.
