When the revamped Bilt program rolled out in January, it felt a bit like opening a multi-page Cheesecake Factory menu — there was a lot to unpack.
But now, seven months later, I barely think about it and still earn thousands of valuable Bilt Points each month — worth 2.2 cents apiece, based on TPG’s August 2026 valuations — that I can transfer to partners like World of Hyatt, United MileagePlan and Atmos Rewards.
Here are the only three things you need to know to earn thousands of pretty easy Bilt points each month:
Get a Bilt credit card — even if you never pay your housing with Bilt. I earn 3 points per dollar on everyday purchases with my Bilt Palladium Card, thanks to the Points Accelerator option, which is a pretty incredible rate for points I can transfer to such top-tier partners. TPG tip: Set a big bill like car insurance, utilities or your cellphone to auto-pay to your Bilt card on the first of the month to earn double points on non-rent spend on that day (up to 1,000 bonus points).
Earn points on your rent or mortgage. With a Bilt card and some everyday spending, you can earn points on your monthly housing payment without paying a transaction fee. There are two ways to do it, so we built a calculator to help you pick the better option.
Use your Bilt Cash before it expires. If you choose the Bilt Cash option of the two choices you will get to make if you get a Bilt card, try to use all but $100 by the end of the year, since that’s the max that rolls over.
That’s really it. There are plenty more Bilt rabbit holes you can go down, but these three moves are responsible for most of the Bilt points I’m earning each month — without adding much work to my life.
