I’m a big fan of Rove, the unique new rewards program that requires no credit card, credit score or credit check and is free to join. You can earn and redeem miles on everyday purchases like online shopping, hotels and flights, and the earning rates can be incredibly generous — we’ve seen up to 45 miles per dollar on hotels earned in the past.
Rove miles are also easy to redeem, either through the Rove platform for thousands of worldwide hotels and flights, or, my favorite, by transferring them to 20 different transfer partners, including valuable (but otherwise hard to earn) options like Japan Airlines Mileage Bank, Lufthansa Miles & More and Scandinavian Airlines EuroBonus.
A mobile app: Rove launched an iOS app (with a public Android app in beta), so you can track your balance, book travel and earn and redeem from your phone.
Rove Dining: Link an eligible payment card, eat at a participating restaurant (selected cities initially) and pay with that card. Your Rove miles will then be posted within a week.
Instant-earning gift cards: Buy an eligible gift card and you’ll receive your Rove miles to use straight away.
A rebuilt hotel platform: Rove says it added tens of thousands of properties and widened its Loyalty Eligible rates, which let you earn hotel points and elite nights alongside Rove miles, as well as receive any elite status perks.
Extensions and in-store offers: New Chrome and Safari extensions will show you earning opportunities while you shop, and Rove is rolling out in-store mileage-earning opportunities at participating physical stores as well.
If you’re looking to increase your points balance but don’t want to add another credit card to your wallet, TPG has an elevated welcome offer for you.
New users will receive 1,500 Rove miles instantly by signing up at this link, plus new users making their first hotel booking over $500 can earn an additional 5,000 Rove miles by using the code BRIANKELLY500 when booking.
