What if I told you that your hotel points could be used for more than just a hotel stay? Maybe even for an exclusive VIP experience you could not book on your own.
The packages typically include a hotel stay and work on a bidding system. In the case of the Hawaii Food and Wine Festival package with Marriott Moments (bidding open now), the package includes four nights in a luxury oceanview suite, a poolside cabana and meals, with bidding starting at 200,000 Marriott Bonvoy points. The price for the suite alone is over 200,000 points for one night, so it can be an exceptional value.
Hotel brands are thinking beyond the traditional hotel stay and focusing on long-term brand loyalty for earning and redeeming points. A few of the other packages that caught my eye were an Oktoberfest experience in Munich, a private tour of the Panda Center in Chengdu, China (I’ve been — it’s amazing) and VIP access to the Singapore Grand Prix.
If you’re looking for unique ways to redeem your hotel points, these experiences could be just the ticket.
