✈ These Points Changed My Life — Here’s Why, Southwest’s Blockbuster Route Expansion & More From TPG ✈

July 17, 2026

Why this offer really matters to me

by Summer Hull, Senior Director of Content

I’ve seen points and miles change people’s lives. This may sound dramatic, but they definitely changed mine.

They’ve opened up the world to my family. We’ve traveled to Hawaii, Japan, New Zealand and beyond — memories that wouldn’t exist without my credit card rewards.

That’s why I don’t want you to miss out on one of the best opportunities we’ve seen in years to quickly build up a points balance that could take you anywhere.

And as we shared yesterday, Chase has confirmed that the rare 100,000-point welcome offer on the Chase Sapphire Preferred® Card is ending soon. But you can still earn 100,000 Ultimate Rewards points after spending $5,000 on purchases in the first three months from account opening if you get this offer while it’s available!

Here’s why this is theoffer I really don’t want you to miss.

It’s actually enough points to book something exciting

TPG values 100,000 Ultimate Rewards points at about $2,050, per our July 2026 valuations, and that’s enough to turn dreams into actual trips.

Whether it’s lie-flat business class to Europe, several nights at a resort in Hawaii or multiple domestic trips to visit family and friends, you’re starting with enough points to actually go somewhere.

Opportunities like this don’t come around often

The Sapphire Preferred has been around for 16 years, but this is only the third time in all those years we’ve seen a 100,000-point welcome bonus.

I’ve been doing this long enough to know what happens next. When a rare, huge offer like this ends, I hear from readers who waited just a little too long and wish they hadn’t — and I don’t want that to be you.

It’s one of best all-around rewards cards

If someone asks me where to start in points and miles, nine times out of 10 I’m going to recommend the Sapphire Preferred. Why?

It’s a very affordable card. This is not one of those $800-per-year premium cards. It has just a $95 annual fee.
The points are incredibly flexible. Whether you redeem them through Chase Travel℠ or transfer them to partners to stretch their value, there are multiple ways to turn those points into real trips.
The transfer partners are top-notch. These points easily transfer to some of the best travel programs, like World of Hyatt, United MileagePlan, Air Canada Aeroplan and more.

I’m passionate about this card — and especially this rare 100,000-point bonus — because I’ve seen what it can do.

I’ve watched it help people take their first award trip, reconnect with family, celebrate milestones and visit places they never thought they’d be able to afford. I’d hate for you to miss the chance to do the same.
