Checking in on these exciting openings

by Tanner Saunders, Senior hotels reporter

As TPG’s hotels reporter, my favorite task is working on our list of the most anticipated openings of the year. It sets the course for where I’ll travel to help you decide where to spend your hard-earned cash, points and miles.

Now, halfway through 2026 (how?), here’s an update on what has me excited, where you can start booking and what we’ve loved so far.

London is in the midst of a luxury hotel glow-up. One of the world’s best wellness brands opened a resort here earlier this year (and we loved it!). Plus, reservations are now open for what’s sure to be Marriott’s swankiest hotel in town, and for a new Waldorf Astoria with direct views of Buckingham Palace and a rooftop bar overlooking The Mall.

I’m truly obsessed with the crystalline waters of Turks and Caicos, so I’m counting my World of Hyatt points to book a new beachfront resort that’s as luxurious as it is stylish.

And if you want a vacation where you don’t have to think about money at all, one of Marriott’s most famed brands is taking reservations for its first all-inclusive resort.

But that’s not all I have my eye on. There’s also:

A safari lodge focusing on rhinos you can book with Marriott Bonvoy points
A gorgeous Fairmont with unbeatable views of Tokyo
A mythology-inspired Hyatt resort on a lesser-known Greek island
And Park Hyatt’s first foray in Mexico

Those are my personal favorites, but you should also check out these other amazing new openings we’ve been following:

I’ve got a busy few months ahead of me gallivanting around the world to check in and check these hotels out. Follow along with me on Instagram.
