Until a few years ago, I had never visited an all-inclusive resort. It wasn’t until TPG sent me on assignment (with my family in tow) to review two all-inclusive resorts in Jamaica that I realized what I’d been missing.
As soon as we checked in, I knew the all-inclusive life was for me.
I didn’t pull out my wallet for every meal, and there was no need to budget for activities during our vacation because it’s all included in the nightly rate. I felt like I could truly relax and enjoy time with my kids (and they could enjoy multiple ice cream cones every day).
What’s even better is that more and more major hotel brands are getting into the all-inclusive game. There are several Hilton, Hyatt, Marriott, Wyndham and IHG all-inclusive resorts that you can book using points (or earn points on cash stays).
Of course, there are many kinds of all-inclusive resorts. Some don’t even allow kids (which is great if you are searching for a romantic getaway), but even among those that do, some are better than others.
