I’ve held the Venture X since 2024, and although I will no longer be able to bring my husband into the lounge for free, I’m actually looking forward to the changes.
Since this card’s $395 annual fee is essentially a wash (thanks to a yearly $300 travel credit and a 10,000-mile anniversary bonus), it remains one of the most affordable ways to get lounge access. So my husband can just add this card to his wallet too.
After encountering consistently long wait times and dense crowds, we’re looking forward to a (hopefully) more relaxed lounge experience in the future. But these changes could be a major blow for travelers with families. For instance, Venture X cardholders who are accustomed to bringing a partner and child into the lounge for free will now face $70 per visit in guest fees.
