This is the fastest new way to get through airport security, and a lot of travelers don’t even know about it.
If you’re a TSA PreCheck member, you’re likely already eligible to use this speedy new service. And it doesn’t cost you extra or require another application — though there is one important thing you’ll have to do.
I’m talking about TSA PreCheck Touchless ID. It’s a speedy new lane the Transportation Security Administration has been rolling out to a bunch of airports over the last couple of years.
Starting early next year, you’ll have to pay a $45 fee to go through security if you go to the airport without a Real ID or acceptable alternative (like a passport). Yes, that means if you forget your ID at home, it’ll cost you some extra cash.
