The Amex Platinum is packed with swanky travel perks like lounge access and hotel elite status, and statement credits for airlines, Clear Plus, hotels, shopping, digital entertainment and much more that help offset the $695 annual fee (enrollment is required for select benefits; see rates and fees).
Some of my favorite redemptions with my Amex Membership Rewards points have been for lie-flat business-class flights to Europe with Air France-KLM Flying Blue from 60,000 miles or booking short domestic flights on American Airlines from 8,250 British Airways Avios. They can also be great for hotel stays with Hilton or Marriott, especially with occasional transfer bonuses.
