Remember being a kid and dreaming about what you would do if you had a million dollars? That’s how I feel when I think about the current Capital One Venture X Business welcome offer.
Right now, new applicants can earn a whopping 350,000 bonus miles: 150,000 miles after spending $30,000 in the first three months and 200,000 miles after spending $200,000 in the first six months.
That spending requirement is a bit out of my budget, but that knowledge hasn’t stopped me from thinking about what I would do with such a huge stash of Capital One miles.
Here are my top three picks:
Fly Lufthansa’s new business class to Europe: I would transfer some of my miles to Air Canada Aeroplan and use them to check out Lufthansa’s new Allegris business class between Chicago and Munich — setting me back just 70,000 points each way (plus taxes and fees).
Take a girls trip to Hawaii: I would transfer a good chunk of my miles to Turkish Airlines Miles&Smiles to snag economy tickets to Hawaii for as little as 10,000 miles each way. With so many miles to burn, I could cover flights for a whole group of friends to go with me and still have plenty left over.
Plan a cross-country road trip: One of the best things about Capital One miles is their flexibility. Sure, I would transfer some of my miles to airline and hotel programs to maximize their value, but I would also plan a road trip and redeem some miles directly to cover the costs of travel expenses like Airbnb and campsite bookings.
If you’re lucky enough to be able to earn this dream bonus, your redemption possibilities are nearly endless. But if you want to make those dreams come true, you’ll need to act fast — this 350,000-mile bonus ends June 9.
