Sheesh, it’s hard to believe we’re more than halfway through May already. If, like me, you’re wondering where the last week went, here’s a recap of the big stories you might have missed.
There was a lot of exciting news last week, especially on the aviation side.
Delta Air Lines announced some big changes to its fare structure that include differently priced “experiences” for each product. The products themselves will also be renamed (goodbye “Comfort+,” hello “Comfort”), so be sure to check out the article to understand this big shake-up.
We got a first look at United Airlines’ next-generation business-class cabins, and they do not disappoint. (Seriously, check out the double bed in these things!) Meanwhile, Alaska Airlines announced plans for a new flagship international experience and a launch date for its revamped loyalty program with Hawaiian Airlines, which rolls out in August.
In hotel news, the Gaylord Pacific Resort & Convention Center — California’s first Gaylord resort and one of the biggest hotel builds the West Coast has ever seen — opened its doors. (You can book a stay at this marvelous property with Marriott Bonvoy points, FYI.)
And finally, we bid farewell to the incredible limited-time offer on the Chase Sapphire Preferred® Card. If you’re one of the tens of thousands of TPG readers now working your way toward that sweet 100,000-point bonus, we have lots of great ideas on how you can maximize those points once you earn them — like using these limited-time 25% transfer bonuses with Virgin Atlantic Flying Club and Air France-KLM Flying Blue.
