Whew! April was a jaw-dropper of a month for welcome offers, bringing us some of the best bonuses we’ve seen in years. And as we roll into May, the welcome offer party is rolling with us … at least to start the month.
As you may have heard from us yesterday, we just learned that the increased Chase Sapphire Preferred® Card offer we can’t stop talking about is “ending soon.” No, we don’t have an exact date to share from Chase, unfortunately, but it ends soon, so now is the time to jump on it if you’ve been putting off applying.
And it’s a great time to be a small-business owner, thanks to new limited-time offers on cards like The Business Platinum Card® from American Express and Capital One Venture X Business. Both cards have elevated offers worth thousands of dollars, according to TPG’s April 2025 valuations.
Let’s jump into the limited-time offers we’re the most excited about for May:
- The Chase Sapphire Preferred is offering 100,000 bonus points after you spend $5,000 in the first three months from account opening — which is 40,000 points higher than the standard bonus. There’s a reason it won our Best Travel Rewards Credit Card award for eight years in a row. The bonus is worth a staggering $2,050, according to our valuations, and we know it is ending soon, so we are leading with this one as we don’t want you to miss out.
- The Capital One Venture Rewards Credit Card also has an increased bonus of 75,000 bonus miles after you spend $4,000 in the first three months from account opening and a $250 credit for travel booked through Capital One Travel in the first cardholder year. If you use the whole bonus to book through Capital One Travel, that’s $1,000 in value. But it can be worth even more if you take advantage of Capital One’s transfer partners — a juicy $1,638 according to our latest valuations.
- The Business Platinum Card® from American Express has sat at the top of our list for months due to how high the bonus is, but it recently upped the ante. Right now, new applicants can earn 150,000 Membership Rewards points after spending $20,000 on eligible purchases in the first three months of card membership. Plus, you’ll earn a $500 statement credit after spending $2,500 on qualifying flights booked directly with airlines or through American Express Travel in the first three months of card membership. This offer ends on June 30.
- Last, but absolutely not least, are the up to 350,000 bonus miles (no, that’s not a typo) you can earn with the Capital One Venture X Business welcome offer: 150,000 miles after spending $30,000 in the first three months, and an additional 200,000 miles after spending $200,000 in the first six months from account opening.
Again, if it feels like we are talking about these limited-time offers more than normal, it’s because these are some of the best offers we’ve seen in years. If you’re considering one of them, don’t wait — they aren’t going to stick around for long.
