I love transferable credit card points.
Obviously, we all do — that’s why we’re here. But what I especially love about having a big pile of these points is that, with so many options for redeeming them, deciding how becomes my own “Choose Your Own Adventure” story. And with that reference, I’ve officially dated myself as a child of the 1980s, but I digress …
Let’s take Chase Ultimate Rewards points for example, since (as you may have noticed) right now you can easily earn 100,000 bonus points after spending $5,000 in the first three months from account opening with the best welcome offer in years on the Chase Sapphire Preferred® Card.
Here are some options that come to mind when I think about what adventure I’d put together with those points.
Redeem for flights
Fancy a trip across the pond to London? You could transfer points to Virgin Atlantic Flying Club and get one-way flights for as little as:
- Economy: 6,000 points — that’s up to eight round-trip flights from that one Sapphire Preferred bonus.
- Premium economy: 10,500 points — my favorite transatlantic sweet spot.
- Business class: 29,000 points — probably the best deal in transatlantic travel. These swanky seats normally cost about $2,000-$8,000 apiece!

Or maybe Spain is more your speed? Transfer points to Club Iberia Plus, which has fantastic options to Madrid for as little as:
- Economy: 17,000 Avios
- Business class: 34,000 Avios — another terrific sweet spot for getting to Europe.

Seeking even warmer climes instead? You can transfer points to JetBlue TrueBlue and book Hawaiian Airlines flights from the West Coast to Honolulu for as little as:
- Economy: 20,000 points
- Business class: 50,000 points

Redeem for a dream hotel stay
Dreaming of a carefree weekend in paradise? You could transfer points to World of Hyatt and get a room at the luxurious, all-inclusive Secrets Moxche Playa del Carmen for as low as 35,000 points per night. This includes your drinks, your snacks, your food, your sushi, your everything.
Or if, like me, you prefer to eke out as many free nights as possible from your rewards, there’s no shortage of Category 1 Hyatt properties you can get for as little as 3,500 points per off-peak night, like the Hyatt Regency Cape Town. That bonus could cover up to 28 nights there!
Or you could post up at slightly pricier places like the Lindner Hotel Antwerp, Me and All Hotel Berlin East Side or Lindner Hotel Prague Castle — which range from only 6,500 to 9,000 points per night — and spend a week or more day-tripping around central Europe. The sky’s the limit
The possibilities are practically endless, whether you want one splurgy booking or you want to stretch your points like I do.
