There are many reasons you might consider getting a new rewards credit card. But one aspect at the front of many travelers’ minds is the welcome offer.
The offers on some cards provide points, miles or cash-back rewards worth $1,000 or more once you reach the specified minimum spending requirements. The value you’ll get from these offers will vary depending on how you redeem your rewards, but we’ve valued the offers based on our points and miles valuations.
Offers change frequently, but The Platinum Card® from American Express currently offers 80,000 Membership Rewards points after you spend $8,000 on eligible purchases within the first six months of card membership. Based on TPG’s December 2024 valuations, these points are worth $1,600.
And if you’re interested in a small-business card, the Ink Business Preferred® Credit Card currently offers 90,000 bonus points after you spend $8,000 on purchases in the first three months after account opening. These bonus points are worth $1,845 according to our December 2024 valuations.
