Earlier this week, I wrote about my mileage run to Dubai and encouraged you to check your own progress toward elite status. Today, I’m back to encourage you to also check whether you have any expiring credits or card benefits you should use before the end of the year.
Although you’ll find options to use this credit in most major cities, I like to maximize it in destinations like Dubai that have relatively inexpensive hotels you can book through these programs.
Although I was only in Dubai for one full night, I booked two nights at a Hotel Collection property close to the airport for $180 out of pocket. By booking two nights, I was able to stay in my room until I left for my 1:40 a.m. return flight on the second night.
Now is a great time to apply for a new card that offers a calendar-year-based statement credit, as you could use the 2024 credits and the 2025 credits within your first few months with the card.
