Welcome to the big weekly recap, folks. It was a doozy of a newsy week here at TPG, so let’s get right into it.
Topping the list of big news last week was the release of (drum roll) our 2025 Best Places to Travel! This year’s list is our biggest ever, with 29 fantastic destinations that are sure to inspire and energize your inner explorer.
Meanwhile, TPG’s Ben Smithson got a first look at the new jet that could revolutionize long-haul flying. He joined Iberia’s inaugural flight of the Airbus A321XLR, the world’s longest-range single-aisle commercial aircraft.
It was also a big week for those of us who use our beloved AirTags to keep tabs on our luggage while traveling. Apple rolled out a new feature that lets you share the location of your AirTags with third parties, including airlines. So the next time your bag gets lost or delayed, you can help the airline find it more quickly. We also saw these handy trackers go on sale for the lowest price we’ve ever seen. (It appears the Amazon sale has ended, but Walmart is still offering a single AirTag for $19).
There was exciting news in the world of airport lounges, with Chase opening its newest Sapphire Lounge by The Club at Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport (PHX), and another at San Diego International Airport (SAN) soon to follow. Meanwhile, Delta Air Lines opened a dedicated private security checkpoint that feeds directly into its new business-class-only Delta One Lounge at John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK).
And in cruise news, Holland America made waves with the announcement of an epic 18-night Alaska itinerary that is unlike anything we’ve seen before.
