We are almost halfway through the year, and that means you might have credit card benefits that are expiring soon. It can be hard to keep track of every perk your cards have, so here are a few key reminders.
If you carry The Platinum Card® from American Express, which comes with lots of perks and credits, don’t forget to use your Saks Fifth Avenue statement credit of up to $50 by June 30. Platinum cardholders get a twice-yearly Saks statement credit, once for purchases between Jan. 1 and June 30, and a second credit for purchases from July 1 through the end of the year (enrollment required). Here are 12 Saks items we recommend if you aren’t sure what to get.
For me and my American Express® Gold Card, you can guarantee the $10 in monthly Uber Cash is always used, but I often forget about the monthly dining credit of up to $10, which can be used at places like Shake Shack and Milk Bar or even ordering in with Grubhub.
It’s also a good time to reassess how you pay for your entertainment. Another perk I love on the Amex Platinum card is the entertainment credit of up to $20 per month (enrollment required), which can be used on a handful of services like Disney+, Hulu and Peacock, or newspaper subscriptions like The New York Times and Wall Street Journal. In fact, with that card, you can take advantage of the included Walmart+ membership to also get a complimentary subscription to Paramount+.
Taking advantage of all of your card’s benefits helps justify the annual fee, can help you have a little fun and ultimately saves you some money in the long run.
