The summer months are the busiest of the year for flights across the Atlantic, with prices normally reaching $1,000-plus round-trip in economy. This is a great opportunity to redeem points and miles, but availability can be tough to come by.
However, this summer, we have seen an unusually high number of cash, points and miles deals, as my colleague Sean Cudahy reports. Saver-level seats are released for business-class travel 30-60 days in advance. The best rates we’ve seen are mostly on international carriers like Air France and KLM. You can book through the Flying Blue program and snag a business-class seat for just 50,000 miles to France, which is an exceptional deal.
We’ll keep you updated on any additional deals we spot, or you could consider investing in an external monitoring tool like Seats.aero, which quickly shows you every seat available with miles through major programs. You can filter results to only show certain carriers, redemption rates, dates and destinations. Many programs will release seats for redemptions at the last minute (up to 14 days in advance).
