This offer gets you more than halfway to a Companion Pass
by Becky Blaine, Managing Editor, Newsletters
If you fly Southwest Airlines, you won’t want to miss this opportunity to earn over 50% of the points needed to secure a Companion Pass with a credit card bonus — but hurry; this offer is only valid through the weekend.
Right now, each of the Southwest Rapid Rewards cards below offers 75,000 bonus points after you spend $3,000 on purchases in the first three months from account opening.
You need to earn 135,000 Companion Pass qualifying points (or take 100 qualifying one-way flights) in a calendar year to earn the Companion Pass. However, cardholders get a 10,000-point headstart each year, and taking home another 75,000 points gives you a great headstart in early 2024.
If you apply and are approved for the card today, and you have spending in January that counts, you could be well on your way to earning the pass by March, which means you’ll have the Companion Pass for the rest of 2024 and all of 2025.
