Southwest Airlines’ new-look cabin is now in service. United Airlines revealed four new destinations in its highly anticipated summer schedule update. And don’t expect Delta Air Lines to begin flying its new narrow-body jets to Europe — one of a slew of headlines from the carrier last week.
As usual, we’ve had a lot of big aviation updates since our last newsletter, so let’s get to it.
I’ll start with Delta, which was the first to report during the airline industry’s quarterly earnings season that kicked off last week. “Earnings season” may not sound exciting, but airline executives often give updates on a myriad of interesting topics. That was certainly the case for Delta, which gave us these earnings-related headlines:
Meanwhile, United’s aggressive international strategy continued in its latest schedule update. Included in the six routes it announced are four new European destinations where it will be the only U.S. carrier.
