Get great discounts with SPG Weekly Escapes

How It Works

The SPG Hot Escapes go live every Wednesday at 6:00 am EST and must be booked by that same Saturday in order to obtain the discounted price. Your hotel stay must be over the next six weeks. Each week a list of new deals will come out, so make sure to check back weekly. If you are an SPG member, you can save an additional 5%. Note that the prices listed are the cheapest prices during the six weeks but may vary by dates and availability. Also keep in mind that the rate is prepaid, and you will be charged a penalty for changes/cancellations. Remember, you also always earn points for these stays even though the price is promotional.

TPG Hot Escapes Top Picks for August 20-24, 2014

St. Regis Rome

1. St Regis Rome: $323 for SPG Members

A deluxe room at the St. Regis Rome on a Friday in September could cost you up to 550 euros (a whopping $730 per night) or 30,000 Starpoints, therefore the Hot Escapes rate offers good savings. TPG Creative Director Adam Weiss recently stayed here in July and had a very positive opinion of this Category 7 SPG Property. The hotel dates back to 1894 and is known to be one of the more luxurious hotels in Rome, and its conveniently located within walking distance to the Trevi Fountain and the Spanish Steps. If you splurge for this opulent hotel, you can stay on track money wise by using some of these budget tips for the rest of your Rome trip.

A Spectacular Room at the W Chicago Lakeshore

2. W Chicago-Lakeshore: $136 for SPG Members

The normal rate for a Saturday in September at the W Chicago Lakeshore, a Category 5 hotel, is $379 or 16,000 Starpoints per night. August and September are ideal times to visit Chicago due to the more mild and warmer temps, so this is a great price for a hotel during high season in Chicago. The property has recently had a 38 million dollar renovation, making for amazing views and a new and glam experience. The location is a prime one, near Navy Pier, Michigan Avenue 'Magnificent Mile" shopping and several museums. This was also the site of the recent TPG Chicago Reader Meet Up. For tips on how to spend your time in Chicago, check out the Destination of the Week Chicago post.

The Le Parker Meridien Palm Springs , a Category 5 hotel, would cost you $499 or 12,000 Starpoints per night in September. This is a great getaway to relax and rejuvenate in, as the hotel has a beautiful pool area and their spa, called the Palm Springs Yacht Club has been ranked one of the top 10 spas by Conde Nast Traveler. They even have bocce courts and a croquet lawn! I stayed here last August and had a very enjoyable experience. This is a pet friendly property for those who have pups they'd like to take along. For tips on enjoying the surrounding area, check out the Destination of the Week Palm Springs Post.

Hotel Pulitzer Amsterdam

4. Hotel Pulitzer Amsterdam: $302 for SPG Members

This Category 5 property has rates starting at 359 euros ($477) or 16,000 Starpoints per night in September. The Pulitzer Amsterdam is not the cheapest place by any means to stay in Amsterdam, but it is one of my favorite hotels due to its original rooms and Dutch character. The hotel was created by taking a block of 25 traditional 16thand 17thcentury Amsterdam canal houses along the famous Prinsengracht canal near the central city, and converting them into 230 rooms. I am not alone in my admiration for the hotel, it's labeled as one of the Top 25 Hotels in Northern Europe by Conde Nast. For tips on exploring Amsterdam, click here.

The Westin PeachTree Plaza Atlanta

5. The Westin PeachTree Plaza Atlanta: $109 for SPG Members

Rates for the Westin PeachTree, a Category 4 property, start at $400 per night or 10,000 Starpoints in September, so if you are looking for an economical weekend getaway, this SPG Hot Escape may be your best bet. The large property features 1,073 guest rooms and is located near the Georgia Dome and the famous Coca Cola Museum. The hotel is also attached to the AmericasMart. Atlanta is conveniently rated as one of the Top 10 Labor Day Weekend Destinations by Kayak, so take advantage of this great hotel rate and pay Atlanta a visit.
