New offers available: Earn American miles, Loyalty Points and statement credits on Uber purchases
Update: Some offers mentioned below are no longer available. View the current offers here.
Citi is a TPG advertising partner.
When American Airlines rolled out a new currency earlier this year, the rush for Loyalty Points began. After all, Loyalty Points are the sole metric used to qualify for elite status with American Airlines.
For better or worse, a key element of the new Loyalty Points
scheme is interacting with AAdvantage partners. That means you'll want to dine at restaurants participating in AAdvantage Dining and click through the AAdvantage shopping portal before making purchases online.
You'll also want to check your SimplyMiles account frequently — especially since two of the easiest-to-use offers have reappeared in some SimplyMiles accounts. Best of all, if you have one or more Citi Mastercards, you can stack these SimplyMiles offers with Citi Merchant Offers for an excellent return.

SimplyMiles offers
SimplyMiles lets AAdvantage members earn American Airlines miles when shopping online and in stores with a qualifying Mastercard. The offers change frequently, and you must add offers to your account before making an eligible purchase with an enrolled card.
SimplyMiles is another way AAdvantage members can earn Loyalty Point-eligible American miles. Right now, we're seeing SimplyMiles offers for Uber and Uber Eats.
For example, I'm currently seeing the following SimplyMiles Uber offer that will let me earn 235 miles on one ride when I book through the Uber app and spend at least $15 (excluding taxes and fees) on a ride within the U.S. by Nov. 30.

And I'm seeing the following SimplyMiles Uber Eats offer that will let me earn 465 miles on one Uber Eats order of $25 or more (excluding taxes and fees) purchased through the Uber Eats app in the U.S. by Nov. 30.

However, as SimplyMiles offers are targeted, you may not see these offers in your account or your offers may be different from mine.
Of course, these miles would be on top of whatever you earn from the Mastercard you use for the purchase. If you use an American Airlines card enrolled in SimplyMiles to make these purchases, you can earn even more Loyalty Point-eligible American miles on your purchases.

Citi Merchant Offers
If you have a Citi-issued Mastercard, you can earn through both SimplyMiles and Citi Merchant Offers on some purchases. When I checked my Citi Merchant Offers account, I was thrilled to see that several of my cards have new offers for Uber and Uber Eats purchases.
For example, here's an offer for $10 back on one Uber ride through Nov. 30 when I enroll and then use my Citi Premier® Card to pay.(see rates and fees)

And here's an offer for $5 back on an Uber purchase of at least $15 through Nov. 30 when I enroll in the offer and then use my American Airlines AAdvantage® MileUp® to pay.

Meanwhile, my Citi Premier Card (see rates and fees)has an offer for $10 back on an Uber Eats order of $25 or more.

And my American Airlines AAdvantage MileUp has the same offer of $10 back on an Uber Eats order of $25 or more.

Remember to enroll in Citi Merchant Offers for each card you plan to use before using that card for your Uber or Uber Eats purchase.

Bottom line
With 200,000 Loyalty Points needed to earn American Airlines Executive Platinum status, I still have a long way to go — but strategically booked tickets and offers like these will help.
I recommend checking your offers at least once a week to see when new offers you can use become available. And remember to enroll in any offers you think you might want to use.
